Admissions 2024-25 (update: 11-25-2024)
We have openings for new students to start in the first half of 2025 (start dates from January through April) for all ages in both our full-day and half-day Montessori programs.
If you child is age 30 months to 6 years, now’s the time to visit us and submit an application.
Children may start in our half-day program, and “upgrade” to full-day at any time during the school year.
We start children at age 30 months. If your child will turn 30 months during the school year, we’re happy to have you start then with a reduced tuition reflecting the partial school year. You may guarantee mid-year placement by making a deposit now.
See “What Does It Cost?” for 2024-25 tuition. Note, for children starting after January, we will ask you to commit to enrolling for the 2025-26 school year.
Start by visiting us for a private tour: book your private tour here.

Summary of our enrollment process:
We take applications throughout the year. For the school year starting September 2024, we have full-day and half-day morning Montessori programs openings available for children born after October 15, 2018:
- For ages 5 & 6 years old: our mixed age Montessori Kindergarten program (full-day or half-day morning)
- For ages 30 months to 4 years old: our mixed age Montessori Pre-Primary program (full-day or half-day morning)
To be considered for placement, families visit the school for a tour (book it online) and submit a paid application (download from our Admissions page). In January 2024 we offer placement for September 2024 to currently enrolled students, and we then offer guaranteed placement to new students, roughly in the order we received their application. We continue to have rolling admissions until our sessions fill at which time we start a wait list.
You can find our 2024-25 tuition rates here (and Summer 2024 rates too)
We offer tours most school days. Tours are most informative when the classroom is filled with students and teachers, but we can only host one adult (no children) during the school day (if two adults come, we may take you into the classroom individually or together, depending on activities in the classroom that day). In our experience, visiting parents get the most from their time when they don’t have to also keep an eye on a toddler. If you have childcare available, we recommend a tour when classes are in session. A personal, private tour during the school day starts at 9:45 a.m. and usually take about 45 minutes, with a generous amount of time in our classrooms.
But, if that’s not convenient for you, we want you to visit and are happy to have your child accompany you for a tour. After school tours start after 4:00 p.m., usually for about 45 minutes, and are limited to two adults and two children.
You may schedule a personal tour online or contact us by texting/calling us at 201-816-8343. Or we’ll contact you: e-mail us at admissions@themontessorihouse.com with your phone number and your child’s birth date, and we’ll reach out to schedule a visit.
We urge families interested in entering September 2024 to come visit soon: schedule a school visit and submit an application.
